ABOUT THE OWNER

Adonna Black

Professionally known as Adonna Black, an Artist, Writer,  Painter, Activist, Community/Youth Advocate, and Official  “Baltimore Girl”. Ms. Black is the Founder of "It's A Good  Look Pro" a company that was created to enhance and strengthen the Baltimore City youth & community base. A company that will empower our young people to ‘Love What  You See” when they look in the mirror. She is a young, aspiring entrepreneur and the Founder of an innovative company called “IAGL UJAMAA SERVICES” … a subsidiary of Its A Good Look Pro" and her new venture “YOUTH TREK  AMERICA” a program for inner-city youth. She is motivated and equipped for teaching and encouraging the community in self-awareness and advocacy even her most recent Women’s empowerment movement W.H.E.W (Women Helping to Empower Women) serving her community in multiple ways to build unity. #TOGETHER she pushes the  Village narrative because Adonna believes that it not only takes a village to raise a child, but it also takes a village to raise a village she always says.

"We Can Do It Better, Together”! Which is her slogan for  IAGL UJAMAA Services her Consulting and Services the company started in 2019.

Adonna has worked for over 20 years in the Baltimore City community as a Mentor, Youth Advocate, and Community  Advocate, and most recently Assistant to the Chief of The  Baltimore Trauma Response Team a non-profit organization that addresses trauma in the inner city. Ms. Black has also  worked as a Peer Specialist and Peer Consultant at the  “Baltimore Club House” a recovery initiative for Baltimore 

​

City Youth. Where an underprivileged youth and young adult population including some youth in Foster Care, DJS, DSS, and Baltimore communities are serviced. She was able to implement and encourage a drug-free lifestyle as well as serve as a certified Youth and Young Adult Recovery Coach,  Youth Residential Counselor and Advocate for this initiative.

Adonna has also worked as the Senior Project Manager for The Belvedere “Real Care Providers Network” an advocacy organization for the homeless in Baltimore City.  In addition, she also worked as an Advisor and Residential  Counselor for the Baltimore City Department of Juvenile  Services. She worked there during the night shift to counsel incarcerated youth and help reduce the rate of recidivism in the youth population of Baltimore City. She is an active member of the Baltimore chapter NAACP and the Greater  Baltimore Chamber of Commerce.

Adonna co-hosted the popular radio talk show “Lift  Your Voice” with Devon Blackwood which aired on WOLB  1010 radio. She has participated in and led peaceful anti-crime and gun violence rallies in Baltimore City promoting the “#LOVEGANG” initiative to spread love and peace. Ms. Black, a local “Hip Hop” artist and artist "extraordinaire"  uses her influence through music, creativity, experience, and artistry to promote genuine love by promoting positivity and expression through her personal testimony of overcoming the “woes” of growing up in the city of Baltimore and learning how to rise above them.

Adonna Black was born in Maryland “Denise Rucker”,  her name given at birth, who still operates under her artist name “Adonna Black” started painting a few years ago.  However; her artistry goes back over 20 years. She adds to her repertoire the skills of also a writer, singer, dancer,  actress, performer, fashion designer, senior cosmetologist,  wardrobe stylist, interior designer, and currently an aspiring author. 

​

In all of her, quote “God-given gifts and talents”, she is spiritually inspired to create and use her artistry to promote  Love, Hope, and Therapy. She offers strength and inspiration to all who are open to receive her expressions. Truly, Adonna is an entrepreneurial counselor and innovative artist to watch. Ms. Black graduated as Valedictorian of her senior class and won a full scholarship to Morgan State University’s  Psychology Program. Adonna Black another African American Artist/Woman on the verge of greatness. WHEW!!
